Q. Does The Stereo Shop buy used gear?
A. No, however we do take trade-ins on used gear. If you would like to sell some used gear we have a message board on our website just for buying, selling, and trading used audio and video gear.

Q. Why can't I purchase equipment from The Stereo Shop through mail order?
A. Because of strict dealer/franchise agreements with the manufacturer we can only sell products within our market region.  Certain circumstances will permit sales out of ones market region but only if the dealer has permission from the manufacturer.

Q. Does The Stereo Shop sell parts?
A. Generally no, but we will direct you to a source if the company is still in business. On a rare occasion we will help an individual with hard to find parts. We have some used parts and new old stock parts for some of those rare items. Please inquire.

Q.  I see that you have a listing of used gear but I don't see any new gear listed, do you sell new gear?
A. Yes, we do sell new gear. All new gear is factory sealed in a factory box.

Q.  Does The Stereo Shop upgrade older laser disc players to AC-3?
A. Yes, the cost is $199.00 plus shipping.

Q.  Does The Stereo Shop do in house repair?
A. Yes, we service just about all types of audio equipment. We also do full restoration work on McIntosh equipment and vintage McIntosh as well as other vintage equipment.

Q. Does The Stereo Shop sell and repair car audio products?
A. No, The Stereo Shop is strictly home audio, video and custom home theater.

Message Board F.A.Q.

Q. How do I post on the Message Board?
A. To post on the Message Board, fill in all the boxes that appear at the bottom of the page. To fill them in, click your mouse inside each one and type your info.

Q. How do I view a message?
A. Click on the subject of the message you want from the main board page.

Q. How do I reply to a message?
A. On each message, there is a set of boxes under the header "Reply to Message".
Fill them out the way you would a new post.

Q. Why didn't my HTML appear in the post?
A. Since the webmaster has the option of shutting off HTML, it may be that you
cannot on that particular board. E-mail the webmaster of the board owner to find out if
that is indeed the case.

Q. What fields are required to post?
A. The required fields are name, subject, and message.

Q. What fields are optional?
A. The link, link URL, and image under the message box are optional, as is the E-mail
box.

Q. I bookmarked a message and it's gone. Why?
A. Board posts can be deleted by the board administrator. If that happened, the post is no longer available.
